What’s the fastest way to craft Frostner for early Mountain exploration?

Crafting Frostner, one of the best early-game weapons for Mountain exploration, requires careful planning and efficient resource gathering. Frostner is a powerful one-handed mace that deals frost, blunt, and spirit damage, making it ideal for taking on Mountain biome enemies like Drakes and Wolves. To craft Frostner, you need a Forge, 10 Ancient Bark, 30 Silver, 5 Ymir Flesh, and 5 Freeze Glands. The key to crafting Frostner quickly is prioritizing the acquisition of these materials while minimizing unnecessary detours.\n\nStart by gathering Ancient Bark, which is obtained from Ancient Trees in the Swamp biome. These trees are large, dark, and have glowing green roots. Use a Bronze Axe or better to chop them down. Ancient Bark is relatively easy to collect, but the Swamp biome is dangerous, so bring poison resistance mead and a decent weapon like a Bronze Mace to deal with enemies like Draugr and Leeches. Clear a safe path to the Ancient Trees and gather at least 10 Ancient Bark.\n\nNext, focus on obtaining Silver, which is found in the Mountain biome. To locate Silver, you need a Wishbone, which is dropped by Bonemass, the third boss. Defeating Bonemass requires preparation, including crafting Iron Armor and a strong weapon like an Iron Mace. Once you have the Wishbone, head to the Mountains and use it to detect Silver veins underground. Mine the Silver using an Iron Pickaxe. Be cautious of Wolves and Drakes, and consider bringing Frost Resistance Mead or a Wolf Fur Cape to survive the cold.\n\nYmir Flesh is obtained from Haldor, the merchant found in the Black Forest biome. Haldor sells Ymir Flesh for 120 coins each, so you’ll need at least 600 coins to purchase 5 Ymir Flesh. To gather coins, raid Burial Chambers in the Black Forest or defeat Trolls, as they often drop valuable loot. Haldor’s location is random, so explore the Black Forest thoroughly to find him.\n\nFinally, collect Freeze Glands, which are dropped by Drakes in the Mountain biome. Drakes are flying enemies that shoot frost projectiles. Use a bow and arrows to take them down safely. Freeze Glands are relatively easy to obtain, but Drakes can be dangerous in groups, so fight them one at a time if possible.\n\nOnce you have all the materials, return to your base and upgrade your Forge to level 3. This requires 6 Copper, 4 Coal, 10 Wood, and 4 Stone. Place the Forge upgrades nearby to increase its level. With the Forge ready, craft Frostner and equip it for your Mountain adventures. Frostner’s frost damage slows enemies, making it easier to handle fast-moving foes like Wolves.\n\nTo optimize your speedrun, consider these tips: Always carry a portal with you to quickly return to your base for repairs or material storage. Use a Cart to transport heavy resources like Silver. Prioritize upgrading your Forge early to avoid delays. Finally, team up with other players to divide tasks and speed up resource gathering.\n\nBy following these steps and focusing on efficient resource collection, you can craft Frostner quickly and gain a significant advantage in the Mountain biome. This weapon will make early Mountain exploration much safer and more manageable, allowing you to progress faster in Valheim.
